Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie) honored Trooper Rick Albert in the Assembly chamber yesterday for his dedicated service to the community. Trooper Albert was shot in the line of duty last year during a traffic stop where he was greeted by the barrel of a gun before being injured. The incident led to the arrest of one suspect, while the shooter, Nelson Troche, was later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Tague expressed his appreciation for Trooper Albert's service, stating, "These people put their lives on the line every day for us." He further emphasized the significance of Trooper Albert's actions by describing him as a "true American hero" with an impressive resume as a U.S. Marine, honored fire chief, and New York state Trooper.
