Assemblyman Brian Maher Introduces Valley Central’s Wrestling Champion in Albany

Assemblyman Brian Maher (R,C-Walden) recently introduced Luke Satriano, a back-to-back New York state wrestling champion, during an event in Albany. Maher praised Satriano for his outstanding achievements, highlighting his success both academically and athletically.

Luke Satriano, an honor roll student at Valley Central High School, has not only clinched the title of a three-time Section 9 champion but has also secured back-to-back state titles in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, in 2023, Satriano earned the title of a New York state freestyle championship medalist and was recognized as an All-American.

Maher expressed admiration for Satriano's accomplishments, stating, "We were so lucky to have Luke come up to Albany today and be recognized for all his incredible achievements. He has had a remarkable career already and we wish him the best of luck and wishes for his future competitions."

Moreover, Luke Satriano is currently being actively recruited by numerous top D1 college programs across the United States. He is set to compete in Las Vegas soon, aiming to secure a spot as a USA World Team member and represent the country in international competitions.

Accompanying Satriano during the recognition event were his dedicated teammates, supportive coach, and proud parents.

This acknowledgment in Albany serves to commend Luke Satriano for his outstanding contributions to the sport of wrestling and his dedication to achieving excellence both on and off the mat.
