The City of Newburgh announced on Apr. 9 that its annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. The parade line-up is set to begin at 9:15 a.m., and all members of the community are invited to attend and honor deceased veterans.

The event provides an opportunity for residents to come together in remembrance of those who have served in the armed forces. Following the parade, memorial services will be held at Washington’s Headquarters, located at 84 Liberty Street, starting at approximately 11:15 a.m.

Those interested in participating in the parade can access the application through the City of Newburgh’s website. In addition to the parade, there will be a flag distribution event at the Activity Center at 401 Washington Street on Saturday, May 23 from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

The city acknowledged and thanked members of its Memorial Day Parade Committee, including Brian Denniston and Mary Keller, for their efforts organizing these events. For further information or to contact the committee, residents are encouraged to call the City of Newburgh Recreation Department.
