FOIA Request to United States Military Academy regarding recent course syllabi on August 6, 2025.

The West Hudson Valley News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the United States Military Academy seeking access to course syllabi for all undergraduate and graduate courses offered during the Spring 2025 semester. The request was made under the New York Freedom of Information Law, N.Y. Pub. Off. Law sec. 84 et seq., with a preference for receiving the information in electronic format.

The requested records include syllabi from all departments, schools, and colleges within the academy, regardless of whether the courses were conducted in-person, online, or through hybrid formats. Additionally, the request specifies that relevant metadata should be included with each syllabus, such as course title and number, instructor name, department or academic unit, and course delivery format.
