Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills has served Sullivan County for over five decades, operating two locations in Harris and Callicoon. The institution is committed to providing a range of medical services, including emergency care and surgical procedures. “The healthcare landscape is ever-evolving, and sometimes it can be confusing to know how—and where—to get care,” says Jerry Dunlavey, CEO of Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills. “But our mission at Garnet Health – Catskills remains the same. We are here for Sullivan County.”
The health system includes several entities such as Garnet Health Medical Center – Catskills, Garnet Health Medical Center, Garnet Health Doctors, and others. “While each of these entities stands on its own, together we are stronger,” states Dunlavey.
Garnet Health plans to build a new hospital in Sullivan County. A study by Halsa Advisors found that building a new facility would be more cost-effective than renovating the current one. “Building a new hospital gives us the opportunity to improve the patient experience by offering single-patient rooms,” says Dunlavey.
The proposed campus could house not only medical facilities but also health and human services from other organizations in the county. “We want to build something new and transformative,” adds Dunlavey.
Community support plays a significant role in this initiative. “We are fortunate to have so many agencies and organizations in Sullivan County supporting our efforts because they strongly believe in the importance of accessible, high-quality healthcare for our community,” states Dunlavey.
