Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall announced on Apr. 2 that Susanne Steele, Healthcare Coordinator, has been named its April Employee of the Month.

Steele has worked at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall since 2012, starting as a Medical Assistant in the Medical Group before joining the Patient Navigation Team. The hospital said she is recognized for her commitment to patient-centered care and service excellence.

Colleagues describe Steele as warm, compassionate, and dedicated to supporting patients and their families throughout their healthcare journey. Many patients continue to keep in touch with her to express gratitude for her support.

Steele is also known among coworkers for being collaborative and innovative, always willing to help others and embrace new ideas that improve patient care and community outreach. “Susanne truly embodies the spirit of patient navigation and patient-centered care,” her peers shared.

As part of this recognition, Steele received a commemorative plaque, meal vouchers, coffee coupons, and a $100 Visa gift card donated by the Foundation. She will be eligible for the 2026 Employee of the Year Award at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall’s annual Employee Holiday Party in December.
