Nicholas Galella appointed as new recreation director for City of Newburgh

Nicholas Galella has been named Recreation Director for the City of Newburgh, according to an announcement from City Manager Todd Venning. The Recreation Director oversees the planning, supervision, and promotion of recreational activities and programs in the city’s parks, playgrounds, trails, and facilities such as the Delano-Hitch Aquatic Center.

City Manager Todd Venning stated: “Recreational programs and services are fundamental to quality of life in our City. Our parks, programs, and community activities promote health, bring residents together, and build neighborhood connections. I am confident Mr. Galella’s leadership will continue advancing that mission for the City of Newburgh.”

Galella holds a Master of Science in Education from SUNY Brockport and a Bachelor of Science in Education from SUNY Cortland. He is also certified in Physical Education by New York State.
