Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues facing his community through a series of posts on social media.

On November 10, 2025, Ryan highlighted concerns about economic challenges and the impact of the government shutdown on his constituents. In a post made at 18:10 UTC, he wrote, “We have an affordability crisis in this country and it’s squeezing our community from every angle, especially during the government shutdown. I hear from folks who rely on SNAP, unsure where they’ll get their next meal. From federal workers who continue to work without a”.

Later on November 10 at 20:35 UTC, Ryan expressed gratitude toward local veterans after attending an event in Orange County. He posted: “Big thank you to New Windsor American Legion Post 1796 & Post Commander Charlie Baranyai for having me at their Veterans Day Breakfast yesterday. Grateful for the opportunity to meet with our Orange County veterans & personally express my gratitude for their heroism.”

Pat Ryan has represented New York’s 18th congressional district since succeeding Antonio Delgado in 2022. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan is also a graduate of the United States Military Academy (2004), holding a Bachelor of Science degree.
