Rep. Pat Ryan, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 18th district, addressed constituents in a series of tweets on July 16, 2025, focusing on community engagement and criticisms of former President Donald Trump’s policies.
On July 16, Ryan highlighted the turnout at his recent event: “On Monday, more than 12,000 members of our community joined my Town Hall, because we know the Hudson Valley deserves better than Trump’s ‘Big, Ugly, Betrayal’ that drives up costs for hardworking families and rips health care away from our kids, seniors, & veterans.” He emphasized his ongoing commitment to local residents in a follow-up post the same day: “Every step of the way, I promise to listen to you, work with our entire community, and fight like hell to build the more affordable, safe, and free Hudson Valley each and every one of us deserves.”
Later that evening on July 16, Ryan described an exchange with Secretary of Transportation @SecDuffy regarding transparency about sensitive files: “I asked Secretary of Transportation @SecDuffy if he would commit to a fulsome conversation on the release of the Epstein files at the next Cabinet meeting. Watch him squirm as he tries to cover for Trump:”
Pat Ryan has represented New York’s 18th district in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022. Prior to serving in Congress, he was a member of the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner at age 41, Ryan is also a graduate of the United States Military Academy (2004).
