Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues of national and local significance through a series of posts on September 19, 2025.
In his first post, Ryan marked POW/MIA Recognition Day by honoring missing service members: “We must never forget the patriots who fought for our country, but remain missing and unaccounted for. On this POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor their sacrifice, and promise to never stop fighting to bring them home.” (September 19, 2025)
Later that day, he highlighted the contributions of truck drivers to the U.S. economy and announced legislative action: “Our truck drivers grind day in & out to keep our economy running. I introduced my Strengthening Supply Chains Through Truck Driver Incentives Act to establish a tax credit for our truck drivers & keep our trucking industry thriving. #NationalTruckDriversAppreciationWeek” (September 19, 2025)
In a third post, Ryan called for unity in the Hudson Valley community following the murder of Charlie Kirk: “We must come together as a Hudson Valley community, not drift further apart Charlie Kirk was a father. A husband. A person, just like you and me. I didn’t agree with him on much, but that doesn’t make his brutal murder less tragic. Everyone has the right to mourn safely.” (September 19, 2025)
Pat Ryan has served in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022 and previously held office in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
