Rep. Pat Ryan, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 18th district, posted a series of updates in early August about constituent services and veterans’ recognition events taking place in his district.
On August 6, Ryan announced that his team would be providing assistance with federal programs in Millerton and Amenia, stating: “Need help navigating Medicare, filing a VA benefits claim, or applying for a passport? My team is bringing assistance with federal programs to Millerton & Amenia tomorrow with my CARES Van! If you need assistance, but can’t join tomorrow, please give us a call: 845-443-2930”
The following morning, he provided further details on the outreach effort: “This morning, join my team at the North East-Millerton Library for assistance with Social Security, Medicare, passports, & more. If you miss them in Millerton – don’t worry! They’re headed to the Amenia Free Library in the CARES Van at 2PM!” This tweet was posted on August 7.
Later that day—coinciding with Purple Heart Day—Ryan shared a message honoring veterans: “On today’s #PurpleHeartDay & every day, we honor the veterans remembered at New Windsor’s National Purple Heart Hall of Honor & all our heroes that made profoundly selfless sacrifices for our country. Thank you – we owe you a debt that can never be repaid.”
Pat Ryan has served as U.S. Representative for New York’s 18th District since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022. He previously held office in the New York House of Representatives and is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy (West Point), graduating in 2004. Born in Kingston in 1982, Ryan currently resides in Gardiner.
