Rep. Pat Ryan, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 18th district, posted a series of updates on August 13, 2025, highlighting his ongoing efforts to support local communities and law enforcement through federal programs and proposed legislation.
In a post made at 17:49 UTC, Ryan announced upcoming outreach in Orange County: “Tomorrow, my team will be out in Orange County bringing one-on-one assistance with federal programs like VA benefits, Medicare, & more with the CARES Van. Hope you’ll join! https://t.co/I9zZJqB4AN”.
Later that day at 20:28 UTC, Ryan emphasized the impact of pending legislation for law enforcement agencies: “The Act would deliver over $1B in funding to equip local law enforcement departments with the resources, gear, & fully-staffed & well-trained police force they need to protect our communities. In another message posted at the same time, he credited conversations with area police as motivation for his legislative work: “Hearing from our local law enforcement leaders is how I can best fight for the resources they need to keep us safe. Thank you to our local departments for our recent conversations. Creating a safer Hudson Valley is why I’m fighting to get my More Funding for COPS Act passed https://t.co/8gQ1IHupLd”.
Ryan has served in Congress since 2022 after replacing Antonio Delgado and previously held office in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2004.
