U.S. Representative Pat Ryan, who serves New York’s 18th district, used his social media account on July 23, 2025, to promote local outreach events and express frustration with recent congressional actions.
In a post at 12:55 p.m., Ryan wrote, “Everyone in the Hudson Valley deserves access to high-quality services right in their home town. We have three C.A.R.E.S. Van events across the Hudson Valley today, starting with Slate Hill at 10am. Details below: https://t.co/2XX6qW0crB”.
Later that day, at 3:36 p.m., he posted about another event aimed at assisting constituents: “HAPPENING NOW! Do you need help navigating a federal program, or accessing your benefits? Come by Dutchess County Office for Aging’s Senior Picnic before 1pm for direct, one-on-one assistance from a member of my C.A.R.E.S. Van team, details below! https://t.co/uq4Y4hd69w”.
At 5:03 p.m., Ryan criticized a decision to end congressional proceedings early. He stated, “Sending us home early is nothing but a weak, pathetic move by politicians hellbent on preventing transparency on an issue that the American people have clearly expressed matters to them deeply. It’s yet another promise broken. https://t.co/MrhrIPOb2X”.
Pat Ryan has represented New York’s 18th district in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022 and previously served in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2004.
