Rep. Pat Ryan, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 18th district, shared a series of posts on August 6, 2025, highlighting community engagement, support for local businesses, and expressing condolences for injured soldiers.
In his first post of the day, Ryan praised local law enforcement agencies for their collaboration during a community event. He wrote, “Phenomenal work by the @CityOfNewburgh Police Department, the New Windsor PD, & the Warwick PD alongside @ValleyWarwick for bringing together our communities last night. This is what National Night Out is all about! So grateful to all the emergency responders, community” (August 6, 2025).
Later that afternoon, Ryan addressed a serious incident involving military personnel at Fort Stewart. He stated, “Absolutely heartbreaking. My thoughts are with the soldiers injured, their families, & their brothers & sisters in uniform at Fort Stewart. I want to thank our first responders for their quick and courageous actions. Please keep our soldiers in your prayers.” (August 6, 2025).
In his final tweet of the day, Ryan emphasized the importance of local commerce in his district: “Our local businesses & organizations are the backbone of the Hudson Valley – when they thrive, we all thrive. Thank you to @DCRCOC for having me in conversation about our shared Hudson Valley priorities – affordability, safety, freedom & how I will never stop fighting for our” (August 6, 2025).
Ryan has served as a member of Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022 and represents New York’s 18th district. Prior to his current role in Congress—which began after serving in the New York House of Representatives—he was born in Kingston and currently resides in Gardiner. He is also an alumnus of the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree.
