U.S. Representative Pat Ryan, who serves New York’s 18th district, used his social media platform on July 30, 2025, to highlight the 60th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid and reaffirm his commitment to defending these programs.
In a post marking the milestone, Ryan stated, “Today marks 60 years that Medicare & Medicaid have ensured that Americans can access affordable health care. The current Administration is gutting these programs; I’m fighting every day to protect Medicare & Medicaid for future generations.” (July 30, 2025)

Representative Pat Ryan has represented New York’s 18th District in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2004.
