Michael was admitted to the hospital with a severe foot infection, leading to the amputation of his toe. “At the time, I didn’t know yet that I had diabetes,” he said. “I was scared, overwhelmed, and worried I was going to lose my whole foot.”

After his hospital stay, Michael was referred to the Garnet Health Medical Center Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Center. There, he received care from Dr. Del Rosso and a multidisciplinary team. His treatment included advanced therapies such as skin substitutes and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The center also offers wound care services like diagnostic testing, specialized dressings, infection control, and nutritional evaluation.

Dr. Del Rosso ensured Michael was informed and supported throughout his treatment. “I truly believe that the wound center and Dr. Del Rosso saved my foot–and my life,” Michael stated. Due to the infection, he had stopped working and lost independence.

Thanks to the care received, Michael’s foot was saved. “I’ve healed, I’m back at work, and I’m living my life again,” he said. He expressed gratitude towards Dr. Del Rosso and the staff for restoring his freedom and peace of mind.
