Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several community developments and initiatives through his social media posts in early September 2025.
On September 3, Ryan extended greetings to local students returning to school at a new educational facility, stating: “I want to wish the @UlsterBOCES students a happy first day of school today as they are welcomed back to the brand new Career & Technical Center! It was amazing to tour the center & see the result of the combined efforts of so many from across our community.”
The following day, he addressed concerns about healthcare costs in Hudson Valley, criticizing United’s influence on regional medical expenses and care standards. He wrote: “United’s healthcare monopoly is driving Hudson Valley medical costs up and quality down. It’s the last thing patients need. Proud to lead the Monopoly Busters Caucus in welcoming leaders in the fight against health care consolidation to DC as we chart a new path forward.” This post reflects ongoing national debates over healthcare consolidation and its impact on patient access and affordability.
Later that same day, Ryan commented on infrastructure improvements in Orange County: “Orange County’s restoration of the Woolworth building both revitalizes a historic piece of the Newburgh community & makes services for families even more accessible. I’m so glad my team could join for the DMV’s ribbon cutting & am looking forward to seeing the new & improved”
Pat Ryan has served as a member of Congress since 2022 after replacing Antonio Delgado. Before joining Congress, he served in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston, New York in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan is also an alumnus of the United States Military Academy (West Point), where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 2004.
