Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, has voiced concerns about local transportation and celebrated a community achievement in recent social media posts.
On July 17, 2025, Ryan highlighted efforts to preserve a vital local transit service, stating: “Our community is fighting back to save our Newburgh-Beacon Ferry. Read more: https://t.co/2L2S5b7dhp”. On the same day, he criticized the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), writing: “Yet again, the Hudson Valley is getting left behind by an NYC-centric MTA that takes our tax dollars, but consistently turns its back on our community. Hudson Valley families deserve better – we need to be adding options, not taking them away. https://t.co/wB0X1Hlisd”.
A day later, on July 18, Ryan acknowledged a sports milestone from his district: “I may be a die-hard Yankees fan, but Hudson Valley representation anywhere in the MLB is something to celebrate. HUGE congratulations to Ethan on getting drafted by the Cubs in the first round — our entire community is so excited to watch you https://t.co/cjafS8tBzH”.
Ryan has represented New York’s 18th District since 2022 after replacing Antonio Delgado in Congress and previously served in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston and currently residing in Gardiner at age 41, Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004.
