Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several issues on his social media accounts this week, including honoring Martin Luther King Jr., opposing an ICE detention facility in the Hudson Valley, and promoting constituent services.
On January 19, 2026, Rep. Ryan posted: “Today, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
We should reflect on the progress we’ve made, but also remember that we still have so much further to go.
We must recommit ourselves to the fight for freedom and equality for all.”
The following day, he commented on a proposed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center in his region: “ICE’s plan for a detention facility in the Hudson Valley is un-American & against everything we stand for.
Hudson Valley Patriots are making our voices heard, demanding justice, accountability, & humanity for every member of our community. Add your voice: https://t.co/prUcEL3Fxqhttps://t.co/sUuAO6VsfO” This post was published on January 20, 2026.
Later that same day, Ryan informed constituents about available federal assistance programs at a local event: “If you need assistance with federal programs like Medicare, Social Security, federal student loans, & more, join my team for one-on-one assistance at tomorrow’s CARES Van event at the NorthEast-Millerton Library! https://t.co/AZ8M4W1m9I”
Pat Ryan has represented New York’s 18th congressional district since 2022 after succeeding Antonio Delgado. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and now residing in Gardiner at age 41, Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004.
