Rep. Pat Ryan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 18th district, recently addressed his constituents through a series of tweets on July 9, 2025. His communications covered local events and national issues concerning veterans’ welfare.
In a tweet posted at 13:44 UTC, Rep. Ryan informed his followers about upcoming events related to the C.A.R.E.S. Van initiative, designed to support community outreach efforts. He stated, “Can’t make it? No worries! We have an event near you soon.” He encouraged people to learn more about the initiative and view the full event schedule for July.
Later that day at 15:27 UTC, Ryan expressed concern over a proposal affecting veterans’ benefits. He urged bipartisan action against this proposal by stating, “I’m calling on the President and all of my Republican colleagues – especially my fellow New Yorkers – to stand up against this attack on our nation’s heroes and reject this proposal.”
In another tweet at the same time, he further criticized former President Donald Trump’s policies regarding veterans’ support. Ryan emphasized the importance of caring for veterans by declaring that Trump is “ripping away desperately needed support from American heroes,” which would affect “1500 New York veterans.” He concluded with strong words saying it is not only wrong but also “deeply un-American.“
Pat Ryan has been serving in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022 and previously served in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston, New York in 1982, he graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
