Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed constituents on social media about Yom Kippur and ongoing federal shutdown concerns.
On October 1, 2025, Ryan posted a message for those observing Yom Kippur: “Wishing everyone observing Yom Kippur across the Hudson Valley a meaningful day of reflection and an easy fast. G’Mar Chatima Tovah.”
The following day, October 2, 2025, he provided information regarding his office’s response to potential impacts from a government shutdown: “Amid the shutdown uncertainty, my team & I are acting with the care & urgency the moment requires. Pat Ryan has represented New York’s 18th District since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022. Before joining Congress, he served in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston, New York in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
