Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on February 9, 2026, addressing concerns about the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and celebrating an athletic achievement.

In a post published at 16:20 UTC, Ryan criticized DHS leadership, stating: “DHS was created to make Americans feel safe & secure at home – Sec Noem has failed this mission by weaponizing ICE to kill American citizens in the streets, deport US veterans, & illegally break into people’s homes – then lie about it all repeatedly.” He followed up with another message moments later at 16:20 UTC: “Today, millions of Americans are living in fear because of the agency’s actions. It’s clear that action must be taken by Congress – I’m calling for Sec Noem’s impeachment.”

Later that day at 19:04 UTC, Ryan shifted focus to sports recognition with a congratulatory message for Marist College alumnus Jason Myers after his Super Bowl performance: “A HUGE congrats to Marist alum Jason Myers for breaking the NFL record for most field goals in a Super Bowl. Not to mention, he did it against the Patriots –way to go Jason!”

Pat Ryan has served as U.S. Representative for New York’s 18th District since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022. Before joining Congress, he served in the New York House of Representatives and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy (2004). Born in Kingston, New York in 1982, Ryan currently resides in Gardiner.
