Rep. Pat Ryan, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 18th district since 2022, posted a series of messages on social media highlighting local community achievements, legislative victories, and the importance of disability rights.
On July 25, Ryan extended birthday wishes to a local leader, stating, “A huge Happy 65th Birthday to Dino Patrikis, President of the Orange County Volunteer Firemen’s Association! Thank you for your service to our OC communities. Dino and Bonnie, thank you for stopping by my office. I hope you enjoy your time in DC!”
The following day, Ryan addressed funding for youth programs in his district. On July 26 he wrote, “Cutting funding for summer programs right after school gets out isn’t just illegal – it’s cruel. Yesterday, we secured initial victory. The remaining funds will be released. We have to keep up the fight – for the people, and against anyone who would do them harm.”
Later that same day, Ryan acknowledged a milestone in civil rights law and ongoing advocacy efforts: “Today, we celebrate the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act & continue to celebrate Disability Pride Month. We must remain committed to protecting the legal rights of members of our disability community, and continue the fight to protect the affordable health care”.
Pat Ryan has represented New York’s 18th district in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022 and previously served in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and now residing in Gardiner, Ryan is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
