Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted several community initiatives and public health issues through a series of posts on his social media account.
On August 29, 2025, Ryan commended local environmental efforts by writing, “The Cornwall Cleanup Crew is a prime example of what we can accomplish when we come together to serve our community. In its 1st year, it amassed 1500 volunteers & cleared 10K tons of litter from our environment. I was honored to thank them for their service on the House floor.”
The following day, August 30, he promoted youth literacy by encouraging participation in his ongoing educational initiative: “Did your K-8 grade student read at least 5 books this summer? Tomorrow is the LAST DAY to submit their form for my summer reading challenge at https://t.co/UGwMu7AD27!”
On August 31, coinciding with International Overdose Awareness Day, Ryan addressed substance abuse and public health advocacy: “On today’s International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember those lost to the heartbreaking disease of addiction. I’ll keep fighting to bring the resources home to the Hudson Valley to end the overdose epidemic once and for all.”
Pat Ryan has served in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022 as representative of New York’s 18th District. Before joining Congress, he served in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004.
