Rep. Pat Ryan, who represents New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed constituents on social media about his office’s ongoing efforts and local concerns.
On August 14, 2025, Ryan posted about his team’s commitment to assisting residents with Social Security issues. He wrote, “Every single day, my team & I are fighting to help you access your Social Security. If you need assistance navigating Social Security & receiving your benefits in hand, please reach out us like Tammi did by calling us at 845-443-2930 or sending us a message on my website https://t.co/tXaifN0SDB”.
The following day, on August 15, he encouraged participation in a community event honoring Sojourner Truth. In his post he stated, “Join our Kingston community this evening to honor the profound legacy of Ulster County’s own Sojourner Truth. A fierce freedom-fighter & women’s rights activist, Truth lived a life grounded in justice that we can all draw inspiration from.”
Later that day, Ryan criticized the regional utility company Central Hudson and called for systemic reforms regarding rate cases. He posted: “What kind of system lets Central Hudson literally boost their own profits while every Hudson Valley family pays more? The rate-case system is fundamentally broken. We need wholesale change.”
Ryan has served as U.S. Representative for New York’s 18th District since 2022 after replacing Antonio Delgado. Prior to joining Congress, he was a member of the New York House of Representatives and was born in Kingston, New York in 1982; he currently resides in Gardiner. Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004.
