Rep. Pat Ryan, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 18th district since 2022, shared several updates on his social media accounts this week highlighting civil rights, women’s equality, and the contributions of women veterans.
On August 25, 2025, Ryan addressed a recent incident involving due process rights and immigration enforcement. He wrote, “We are all-hands-on-deck to make sure EVERYONE has the rights afforded to them by our Constitution. I am relieved to hear that after a harrowing week being shipped around Louisiana and nearly deported without due process, Gerson has safely returned to New York.”
The following day, August 26, Ryan marked Women’s Equality Day with a message celebrating progress toward gender equality in the United States. He stated, “Today, we celebrate Women’s Equality & all the brave women who have fought for women’s equal protection under the law, strengthening our democracy & nation. From protecting reproductive rights, to pushing for equal pay, we must continue the fight for forward progress & equality.”
Later that same day, Ryan recognized the service of U.S. Air Force Sergeant Michele AnnMarie Swarner Kinsell in honor of Women’s Equality Day. He posted: “A truly inspiring story on this #WomensEqualityDay. Our military is stronger because of women veterans like U.S. Air Force Sergeant Michele AnnMarie Swarner Kinsell. To her family, thank you. Her legacy is one of bravery & leadership that every American should aspire to.”
Pat Ryan has represented New York’s 18th district in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022 and previously served in the New York House of Representatives (source: FACTS FOR STEP 4).
