Rep. Pat Ryan, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 18th district since 2022, recently used his social media platform to address issues facing veterans and residents in the Hudson Valley, including mental health care for veterans and rising health insurance premiums.

On November 7, 2025, Ryan posted: “I’ll keep pushing with everything I’ve got to make sure our veterans have all the support & resources they need.”

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, he emphasized the importance of mental health services for former service members: “Every veteran should always be able to receive the mental health care they need. I’m fighting to get the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Peer Support Program Act passed to increase funding for community organizations that provide crucial mental health services to our veterans.”

On November 8, 2025, Ryan addressed another concern affecting his constituents: “Health insurance premiums are set to skyrocket across the Hudson Valley. 240K of our neighbors are at risk of losing coverage altogether. I’m fighting back & I need YOU to join me. Are your health insurance premiums increasing? Take my survey https://t.co/FoYz2xmrWU https://t.co/MlXGb6Ift5”

Ryan has served in Congress since replacing Antonio Delgado in 2022 and previously held a seat in the New York House of Representatives. Born in Kingston, New York in 1982 and currently residing in Gardiner, Ryan is an alumnus of the United States Military Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 2004.
