Rep. Pat Ryan, who has represented New York’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress since 2022, recently addressed constituents through a series of social media posts. Ryan, a Kingston native and West Point graduate, replaced Antonio Delgado in Congress and previously served in the New York House of Representatives.
On July 14, 2025, Ryan posted an invitation for community members to participate in a discussion, stating “I want to hear from YOU. Dial (833) 980-3644 at 7:30 tonight, more info below:”.
In another post on the same day, Ryan referenced recent legislative developments and community concerns: “Since Trump’s ‘Big Ugly Betrayal’ passed last week, I’ve been getting a record-breaking amount of calls from (rightfully) concerned members of our community. At 7:30pm TONIGHT, I’ll be taking questions, explaining the local impacts of the bill, & laying out where we go from”.
Later that afternoon, Ryan announced direct outreach efforts in Poughkeepsie: “Attention Poughkeepsie! My C.A.R.E.S. Van team is coming right to your hometown with the direct, one-on-one assistance you deserve. Stop by the Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market at 2pm tomorrow, details below:”.
Pat Ryan was born in Kingston in 1982 and currently resides in Gardiner. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
