Rep. Pat Ryan, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 18th district, used his social media platform to warn constituents about a severe winter storm and urge caution throughout the weekend.

On January 25, 2026, Ryan posted an advisory: “With a severe winter storm forecasted for this weekend, please prepare as needed! Check on neighbors who may need an extra hand to make sure they have everything they need.”

Later that day, he addressed road safety and expressed gratitude to essential workers: “Please try to avoid being out on the roads & use extreme caution if you need to drive. HUGE thank you to our road crews & first responders for their hard work to keep us safe!” This message was posted at 20:01 UTC.

As conditions worsened in the evening, Ryan reiterated his warning: “Dangerous conditions are expected through the evening — please continue to stay off the roads & exercise extreme caution if you must travel. Thank you to all our first responders & road crews for your hard work keeping us safe in this storm.” The post went live at 22:48 UTC.

Ryan has represented New York’s 18th District in Congress since 2022 after replacing Antonio Delgado. He previously served in the New York House of Representatives and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy. Born in Kingston, New York in 1982, Ryan currently resides in Gardiner.
