Census Bureau: More women than men in Cairo in 2019

Of the 955 people living in Cairo in 2019, 54.2 percent (518) were women and 45.8 percent (437) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the West Hudson Valley News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 319-to-249. In the 65 and over age range, there were 165 females and 51 males.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau's American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
