Police Unity Tour 2022
On Monday, May 9th, members of this office, the New York State Police, and the Saugerties Police Department participated in the Police Unity Tour.
Riders from those agencies comprise Chapter 37, representing the 37 NYNJ Port Authority officers who lost their lives on 911. Sheriff's Office Correction Officer George Hill, and other Chapter 37 members were on hand at the World Trace Center Freedom Tower for the read out of Line of Duty Deaths, including that of Sheriff's Office Correction Officer Joseph Martini. Riders then carried bracelets inscribed with the Line of Duty Deaths to the Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, DC. Six of the bracelets carried were given to family members of Officer Martini.
The ride happened over a 4 day period, covered 350 miles through New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
