Rep. Pat Ryan, representing New York's 18th District in the U.S. Congress, has been vocal about his efforts to secure funding and address issues related to military politicization. His recent social media activity highlights these concerns and initiatives.

On December 10, Rep. Ryan announced substantial federal funding allocations for counties in the Hudson Valley area: "$574,070 to Dutchess Co $924,546 to Orange Co $230,463 to Ulster Co". He emphasized that this financial support is crucial for ensuring safety during emergencies and preventing potential threats.

Later on the same day, Ryan expressed his disapproval of what he perceives as the politicization of the military by individuals like Pete Hegseth. In his words, "As a veteran, it’s been infuriating to watch people like Pete Hegseth politicize our military - it erodes trust, puts our servicemembers in danger & runs counter to our founding principles of an apolitical military." He stressed the need for better leadership for U.S. troops.

On December 11, Rep. Ryan reiterated his commitment to community safety by securing federal resources. He shared that he is "Proud that this over $300K in federal funding will make our communities more prepared for any emergency." This initiative aims at bolstering local preparedness against unforeseen emergencies.
