Rep. Pat Ryan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 18th district, has recently addressed two significant issues in his social media communications. On February 1, 2025, he highlighted events across the Hudson Valley in celebration of Black History Month. On February 4, 2025, Ryan expressed strong opposition to the closure of inpatient beds at Castle Point VA.

In a tweet dated February 1, Rep. Pat Ryan encouraged participation in local events during Black History Month: "As we kick-off Black History Month, there are great events across the Hudson Valley uplifting & celebrating the invaluable voices & stories of Black Americans." He provided information about events organized by Black History Kingston.

On February 4, Rep. Ryan reacted to healthcare changes affecting veterans: "The closure of 20 inpatient beds at the Castle Point VA is outrageous, and a fundamental breach of the sacred duty we have to care for our veterans who’ve put their lives on the line for our country." He called for collective action to support veterans.

Further emphasizing his stance on February 4, Rep. Ryan reminded constituents of past efforts to protect veteran services: "Our community has always taken up the call to have our veterans’ backs... We need to be loud, we need to be strong, and we need to be direct: this unit must be reopened immediately."
