Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C-Schoharie) has announced the signing of a law that allows New York’s small craft manufacturers to ship directly to consumers. This measure, initially introduced as a COVID-19 pandemic relief effort, aims to support businesses statewide and meet customer demand.
“This is one of the positive changes from COVID-19 our local producers were asking for, and I’m so glad the governor signed it into law,” Tague stated. “Giving our local and small businesses a chance to compete with their quality products and personal service is something I’ll always advocate for, and I’m just beyond thrilled to see this signed into law. I want to thank the governor, Assembly Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Lupardo, my partners in state government and all the local advocates for pushing for this change. This is a victory for you!”
The new legislation represents a significant shift in how small craft manufacturers can engage with their customers, providing them with opportunities previously unavailable.
