Rep. Pat Ryan addresses Pearl Harbor remembrance and Hudson River cleanup

Rep. Pat Ryan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York's 18th district, has been active on social media recently, addressing a variety of topics from sports to environmental issues and historical remembrance. Ryan, who replaced Antonio Delgado in 2022, has been vocal about local and national matters through his tweets.

On December 6, 2024, Rep. Pat Ryan expressed support for the Army football team with a spirited message: "#GoArmyBeatTulane!".

In a tweet dated December 7, 2024, Ryan paid tribute to those who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He stated: "Today, we solemnly remember the 2,403 service members and civilians who lost their lives 83 years ago at Pearl Harbor. They made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms as Americans. We must honor their memory today and every day."

On December 9, 2024, Ryan addressed environmental concerns regarding General Electric's cleanup efforts in the Hudson River. He criticized GE's progress based on an EPA report by stating: "I’ve long pushed for GE to clean up its toxic PCB pollution in the Hudson River. The results of EPA's recent report on the progress of GE's cleanup are clear: GE failed." He also encouraged public participation in an upcoming EPA community meeting.
