Rep Pat Ryan honors environmental advocate and community leader

Rep. Pat Ryan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 18th district, has expressed his admiration and gratitude for two notable figures in recent tweets. On December 9, 2024, he acknowledged John Lipscomb of Riverkeeper for his dedication to environmental protection and Nina Postupack for her service to the Ulster County community.

In a tweet on December 9, Rep. Ryan highlighted the significant contributions of John Lipscomb to environmental conservation efforts on the Hudson River. He stated: "Throughout his career, @riverkeeper's John Lipscomb has sailed infinite miles on the Hudson River, taken countless water samples to advance cleanup efforts, & through his work on documentaries, has spread his zeal for protecting our environment to people near & far."

Following this acknowledgment, Rep. Ryan extended his personal thanks to John Lipscomb in another post dated December 9: "John's dedication to the River's care & rehabilitation runs deeper than the depths of the River itself. I want to thank him for his decades of fierce advocacy for our environment & wish him the best in his retirement."

Later that day, Rep. Ryan paid tribute to Nina Postupack by supporting the naming of an office building after her in Ulster County. In his words: "Nina Postupack was a pillar of the Ulster County community & a true public servant. There is no better name for the Ulster County office building. I’m looking forward to honoring her legacy by walking through the doors of the Nina Postupack Office building soon!"
