Arrest
Members from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office report the arrest of a 19 year old Port Ewen female for the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated, Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Automobile Accident and Assault in the Third Degree.
On April 20, 2022 at approximately 12:00 PM, deputies responded to the area of Route 9W in Port Ewen for a report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries. The subsequent investigation alleges the female was operating a vehicle south bound on Route 9W when she rear ended another vehicle and fled the scene. A short time later, the vehicle was stopped near the traffic circle in the Town of Ulster and the female was found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition.
The female was released with an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Esopus Court on a later date.
The driver of the other vehicle involved was transported to Health Alliance Broadway Campus in Kingston by the Town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Any person(s) charged with an offense or offenses are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
