41 percent of applicants to State University of New York at New Paltz were admitted for fall 2018

At State University of New York at New Paltz, 92 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 61 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in New Paltz enrolled 7,608 students in fall 2018, including 6,692 in undergraduate and 916 in graduate programs, data shows. 12.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

96 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 3 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (59 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (20 percent).

The school admitted 41 percent of the 15,419 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 18 percent enrolled.
