11 percent of applicants to the United States Military Academy were admitted for fall 2018

At the United States Military Academy, 99 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 77 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in West Point enrolled 4,589 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. No undergraduates were transferred from another college or university.

6 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 93 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (63 percent) and Black or African American (12 percent).

The school admitted 11 percent of the 12,294 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 86 percent enrolled.
